Captain Rick Keys is a seasoned law enforcement professional with an illustrious career that spans several decades. Born and raised in Tennessee, Keys developed an unwavering commitment to serving his community from an early age. Graduating at the top of his class from the police academy, he began his journey as a patrol officer, demonstrating exceptional dedication and leadership skills. While on a trip to the Low Country to visit a family member stationed there, Rick developed a strong affinity for the area and became aware of the demand for local law enforcement. Motivated by this, he applied and was successfully recruited by the North Charleston Police Department. Over the years, through dedicated effort and a profound understanding of both law enforcement and community requirements, Keys steadily ascended through the ranks within the North Charleston Police Department. He achieved promotions to Senior Sergeant in 2010, Lieutenant in 2015, and Captain in 2020, all attributable to his exemplary performance and innovative policing approach.
